Hazeldene Holiday Let
This lovely, newly renovated 2 bedroom Forest cottage, rests in the small village of Parkend in the Forest of Dean.
Downstairs is open plan, light and modern with a comfortable dining and living area for relaxing in, with the bonus of a modern smart TV and Wifi. The kitchen space is well equipped and has all you need for a great self-catering stay.
Upstairs there is a nice new shower room with towels provided for each guest. A light airy double bedroom with double bed and a small bedroom with bunk beds, which are suitable for adults, will provide a comfortable nights sleep. Both bedrooms have a wardrobe or set of drawers. All bed linen is provided.
Parkend is a small, traditional Forest village set around the village cricket pitch with two lovely pubs, The Fountain Inn and the Woodman Inn, both serving local ales and delicious homemade food throughout the day and are situated only minutes walking distance away.
A few minutes walk from the cottage is a shop, two good pubs and a cycle hire shop and café.
The village shop, which sells local produce, and post office also has a small café.
The nearby cycle hire and repair shop (pre booking recommended in peak season) supplies local cycling trail leaflets and also has a great little café. The purpose made circular Family Cycle Trail is located just up the road and this links to the various other tracks all aimed at different abilities. You can cycle all day!
Hazeldene is superbly situated for walking and cycling into the ancient Forest. It is just a short walk to Nagshead Enclosure, a RSPB nature reserve.
From the cottage, tracks straight into the woodlands give you access to miles of walking trails direct from the doorstep.
A bonus nearby is the pretty station of the Dean Forest Railway, a steam heritage railway. Run by volunteers, it operates several times a week going from Parkend to Lydney a distance of 5 miles, stopping at the main station at Norchard, which has a visitor centre shop and café.
We are lucky enough to have the Wye Valley only a short drive away, with its enviable views, landscapes and the forest steeped in history, will have your days filled during your stay.
Happy Holidays!
